Quotes of the Week: Muhammad Ali

1.The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.

2.Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up. Time Magazine, 29 November 1999

3. The man who has no imagination has no wings.

October 22, 2007:   We have completed week one. I hope everyone has moved at least one step towards their goals. I'm happy to say that I lost 15 lbs this week. I'm down from 276 to 260.6. I set a goal to lose 20 lbs by the end of the month, hopefully I will surpass that. The bulk of the weight loss is of course water weight and "stuff" from the colon. You know the McDonalds, fried fish, hot dogs, Reece's Peanut Butter Cups, Heineken among other things you probably don't want to hear about. Even though I'm drinking tons of water all day everyday. But the body has decided to let go of some of the excess it was holding onto. The thing I have to worry about is losing muscle mass. That's what I don't want to happen. Thus, I will add in weight training to my program. This will slow down my weight loss initially. But in the long run it will benefit me as muscle burns more calories than fat. Looking forward to reading/hearing your success stories.  On a side note look at the headliners of the two newspaper. "Patients (or patience) in the dark" and "Ready to Rock" how appropriate. Let's see what week 3's headline says. Jeff

Quote of the Week 1: Helen Keller

I long to accomplish  great and noble tasks, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble. The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker.

October 15, 2007: Weighed in and oh boy was I surprised to see that I was 25 lbs past my most recent weight lose and not 23. Not good. Well here is the starting picture of the scale and my feet (no comments on my toes please, focus people). The starting weight is 276.0 Let's get it on. If anyone wants to submit a starting weight photo, email it to me and I will post it on the site. Each week I will weigh myself and place the photo on the site to see the progress.
